Surgery went well!

Gracie did great through surgery and the surgeon was pleased. He was able to repair the valve the best he could and hopefully buy her a lot of time until she needs it replaced. He closed the opening between the two top chambers of the heart. He also removed the membrane above the mitral valve which helped with the pressure.

He had to separate the vessels that go from the valve to the bottom of the heart. They knew they were narrow but not sure they were attached. He said that he traded a little leakage for quite a bit of pressure relief. The doctor also looked at the aortic valve and said it looked normal and that he only looked at the aortic arch through an echo cardiogram that was put down Gracie's heart through a probe. He was not concerned about it right now. The doctor said that Gracie was stable during the whole surgery and the only thing is her blood pressure is a little high but he said that it was better than being low.

He said her lungs looked like premature lungs, but I think he said it would not effect her heart too much. The next couple of days are still going to be critical with all the tubes that Gracie will have and I know it will be hard to see her but am so glad that she did well during surgery.

Todd and I have already seen Gracie and she looked better than we expected. I was expecting her to look her absolute worst, but she looked really good just a little swollen. Todd was bothered by her eyes. She never really closes them all the way but today they were pretty much wide open so he asked the nurse if he could close them.

A HUGE thanks to everyone for the prayers and thoughts of our family during this time. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. We definitely know that God was in the operating room with the doctors.

Gracie

Gracie 3 months old and time flies and I have no pictures of her up since she turned two months old! I am such a bad mom. Anyway, lots of changes from her first smile to her first airplane ride.

Todd's creations

Todd is so creative, as most of you know. And you probably know that he can't sit still either for a long period of time so this time in Houston is just about to kill him.

Before we left Lubbock Todd got the idea to use old car parts to create a MUFFLER MAN! Too cute and now are starting to be in demand. If you don't know Todd, our backyard is full of this type of things all over and he is always rearranging it. If you ever need a laugh or just feeling blue, our backyard is the place to be. I can't believe that it has been 10 years and almost 7 of marriage!

Fun times in Lubbock

Last week when Todd and I came home, we took the girls to Main Event and went bowling. We all had the best time and it was nice to kind of get our mind off things in Houston for a little while.

This is one of the girls and Todd's favorite things to do. Todd will get the girls and attach thier wagon to the motorcyle and go up and down the block. I was hoping to get a video but they wouldn't stay still enough

These were my cheerleaders this year at the banquet. I really enjoyed it and am going to miss it next year. They were a great group of girls and parents to get to know!

Kadee

Here are just some miscellaneous pictures of Kadee. She is 22 months now and just growing up so fast. Even now, she is beginning to get more and more independent every day and talking more. I can't believe she is almost 2 years old!

If she could go like this everyday, she would

Callie....

It is hard to believe that Callie is almost 4 years old! Unfortunately, we will probably be in Houston on her birthday, but she is a very loving little girl with one of the biggest hearts I know of. When we told her, she said, "That's okay. I can have an Enchanted birthday when Gracie comes home!" For such a little girl, she has big big heart.

Callie had an accident with our wood floors and the door framing, I think. I was gone to walmart and came home to this sight! This picture makes it look good!
